Our team is incomplete. There is a hole in our game. We need the absolutely perfect person to fill the role of Director of Events to complete us.

What We Do:

​The most talented business leaders and managers in the Melbourne Region have tasked the Chamber staff to run the Chamber day-to-day operations for them. We need help!

​There is one more thing, and it’s a big thing: You need to be a detail-oriented planner.
That is, your job is to ensure our Chamber events are perfect. There are over 100 each year; so, while one is going on, you are planning the next five or six. You need to plan every detail and prepare for everything. Know that old saying: “whatever can go wrong, will”? That won’t happen at a Chamber event; because, you have planned, prepared, and war-gamed to ensure perfection. You are a craftsman. The event is your masterpiece.
We are known as The Business Chamber because we help companies and their employees to learn, grow, and connect. That usually happens at an event. They range from Signature Event (large) to Standard Event (medium) to Boutique Event (small). The types & titles of events are determined by the Board of Directors. They even set the dates. However, you and your team of direct reports (one Events Coordinator & one Events Intern) do the rest. You need to self-motivate, plan, document, and manage the event live to represent the Chamber well. 
It’s being part of something bigger than yourself. It’s making a difference where you live, work, and play. So, you need to ask yourself… Can you do all of that? And… Are you willing to work both smart and hard to make it happen?

​This is a metric driven position. So, if you say you can… but can’t. Or, can… but don’t; then, that won’t work for us. We need someone who does. We need a team player. Is that you?

How Much It Pays:

salary + car allowance + cell allowance
+ Pride of Accomplishment
​If you can and you do, you shall be rewarded with far more than pay – self-satisfaction & pride of accomplishment will be your chief drivers.
The Chamber is a not-for-profit trade association; so, the pay is not stellar… but, everything else is!
This is a full-time salary position. We will provide compensation of $36,000 annualized with a car allowance and mobile phone allowance on top of that. You do need your own reliable transportation and mobile phone with a great plan. You will be out and about a few times each week.


​7 paid holidays/year, 5 paid vacation days/year to start (grows to 11 days/year with increased years of service), 4 paid personal days/year, large contribution toward health insurance, dental insurance & eye insurance paid in full for employee, an AMAZING 401(k) retirement plan with an unheard of 8% matching, unlimited free coffee, and lots of free snacks and eats, as available.
